ARTIST BIO

Originally from the Chicago area, I relocated to Florida at age 15, where I was first introduced to the art of flameworking. Mesmerized by the fluid transformation of glass, I discovered an immediate calling to this unique medium. Combining my artistic intuition with a strong foundation as an award-winning marketing student, I launched my first entrepreneurial venture at age 19 in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands. There, I established a boutique gift shop featuring an interactive demonstration space and my signature, one-of-a-kind marine life glass sculptures. After four formative years in the Caribbean, I returned to Florida to dedicate myself fully to mastering the torch. Over the subsequent decades, I rigorously refined my technical skills and expanded my commercial presence. Today, my celebrated artwork is featured in premier cultural institutions, fine art galleries, and prestigious museums throughout Florida, including the Salvador Dalí Museum, the Imagine Museum, and the Morean Glass Studio.

In 2020, I launched an initiative to make glass flameworking education globally accessible. Recognizing that geographic constraints limited my traditional workshops—despite widespread demand—I sought a scalable solution. Drawing from 35 years of self-taught expertise, I codified the essential techniques and foundational stages of the craft. To streamline the learning curve and eliminate the setbacks of trial and error, I collaborated with a professional videographer to produce high-quality instructional content. Capitalizing on the rapid evolution of virtual education over the past six years, this project has culminated in a comprehensive online series: "Beginning Techniques in Flameworked Glass Sculpture." This program now delivers structured, world-class training to aspiring glass artists globally.

I continue to challenge myself to create larger artwork by recently upgrading to the Kobuki torch, a triple ring of fire torch that speeds up the process in melting larger rods of glass in order to make larger creations.

My artwork is a reflection of my love of all things sun, sand, and sea and represents my beautiful surroundings in St. Petersburg, Florida.
